About Lucy Aur
Lucy Aur is a Doctor of Creative writing, published author and poet. She specialises in prose, particularly historical fiction, while her poetry ranges from themes of grief, welsh identity and the panic of being in your twenties. She is also an avid volunteer, dedicating time to The Duke of Edinburgh Award and founding her own mental health platform Renegades Foundation.
Her PhD looked at the anxieties and authenticity of using primary sources to represent previously unheard histories, while simultaneously completing what will be her debut novel.

For a number of years she worked with The Broken Spine as flash fiction editor and has experience producing, editing and promoting works.

Lucy is a confident and articulate public speaker, having been invited to speak at many high profile events including The High Sheriff of Mid-Glamorgan Summer Party, Cardiff Business events and the annual Gold Fundraiser for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. In 2020 she won the Project Hope award for ‘making a difference’.

Outside of writing, she is a big fan of theatre, climbing big hills and of course, reading.
